Update: they have a new speaker system and it makes ordering a lot easier! Love their food. Yvette is always very nice and makes sure I always have my order correct. Tara is also a pleasure to deal with in the mornings. Best place for burritos , sopaipillas , and all other Mexican foods.

’s of to Robert’s in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Tamales are excellent, in Portland Oregon at Tamale Boy’s they are 69 a dozen in San Jose California At the Tamale Factory the price is 51 plus tax a dozen. There is by far no comparison to Roberto’s by a longshot. As a matter of fact, both places have very bland greasy actually I can’t even call them Genuine tamales. The price at Robert’s is superb!!! For less than 15 you get great quality great, great portions and an excellent price.

Back in town visiting and I had to stop by Roberto's. I love all their food, but this visit went with green chile enchiladas. They come stacked by default, so you already know they know what they're doing. Their green chile sauce is so creamy and flavorful. Wonderful as always!

Used the drive thru, which was very efficient. Ordered a dozen rolled tacos, and a pint each rice, beans and cheese dip. Everything was delicious fresh and we will return soon.

Roberto's is by far my most favorite Mexican food restaurant in Las Cruces, NM. But I must be honest and admit a bias, one of my relatives is married to a member of the owners family but that has nothing to do with the taste of the food. This is my favorite dish, red enchiladas topped with 2 perfectly prepared fried eggs, beans (frijoles lol), spanish rice, with a garnish of shredded lettuce and tomato. Don't turn your nose up at eating the garnish because the red chile sauce mixed with the lettuce and tomato makes for a heavenly delight. There is much more to the story of this landmark eating establishment and I will post several photos of the legendary and world renowned owner (now deceased, sadly) and founding proprietor. Mr. Robert Estrada founded the restaurant in 1980 although he had a thriving tortilla manufacturing company. One day he had an epiphany and decided to go for a world record by making the world's largest three layer red enchilada. Not only did he accomplish this feat, garner a world record, but the Whole Enchilada Fiesta sprung up around it, which was sadly cancelled as he became too I'll to continue. I would also like to add he was a Vietnam war veteran. I've seen many negative reviews of this restaurant but, fantastical as it may sound, there is an outside element that is constructively closing down all the local establishments to favor their "alien" invasion. If one will do some research, one will find the most popular eating establishments in our fair city of the same persuasion are not local and arise from further south. What better way to conquer than from within. This area of the southwest is known as the chile capital of the world and well deserved. The local controversy around here is - "what is your favorite chile sauce, red or green?"
